Md. Saim Khan
Project Coordinator, Cervical Cancer Project
Md. Saim Khan is the Project Coordinator of HAEFA in Kurigram, where he leads a very successful cervical cancer program. Mr. Khan completed his MBA from the Presidency University in Dhaka and Post Graduation Diploma on Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) from BiMS. He received his graduation degree in English Literature from the University of Development Alternative (UODA), Dhaka.
Mr. Khan joined HAEFA as a Project Coordinator (PC) in 2016. His first project with HAEFA was funded by DFID and Brown University, which provided onsite health screening, treatment and follow up services to the ready-made-garment (RMG) factory workers at their workplace in Dhaka, Gazipur, Tongi and Savar regions. He served as the coordinator of a 30-member medical teams for more than six months in 2016. After successful completion of health screening and treatment to more than 10,000 RMG workers, Saim served as the PC of the FDMN/Rohingya healthcare Project in Cox’s Bazar since 2017 to 2018. After completion of two years on FDMN Project, Mr. Khan was transferred to Dhaka to oversee HAEFA’s Grand Challenges Canada (GCC)’s “Stars in Global Health Award” project in 2018. In addition to healthcare services using digital NIROG (HAEFA’s novel EHR system), Saim and Ms. Nasima (clinical manager) introduced HAEFA’s pioneering work “See-and-Treat” cervical cancer screening and thermocoagulation services to more than 10,000 female RMG workers for the first time Bangladesh in 2018. Currently, Mr. Khan is working as Project Coordinator of “see-and-treat” Cervical Cancer Screening and Treatment Project in three subdistricts (Upazila) of Kurigram district since September 2019. The aim of the project is to screen and treat married women between the ages of 30-60 at three Upazila Health Complexes using MobileODT and Thermocoagulation under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Susan Cu-Uvin of Brown University. In 2020, Saim, Nasima and their team screened more than 10,500 women at three Upazillas of Kurigram District.
Dr Sumashree Roy
Medical Officer
Dr. Sumashree Roy is the Medical Officer of HAEFA at the Cervical Cancer Project in Kurigram. She has obtained an MBBS degree from Prime Medical College in Rangpur under Rajshahi University in 2018. She has been working at HAEFA since 1st April 2021. Before joining HAEFA, she worked at LAMB Hospital, Parbatipur, Dinajpur in the same project for ten months which HAEFA also supported. Dr. Sumashree has got VIA basic training on Cervical Cancer Screening from BSMMU. She completed more than 1500 VIA tests in different health facilities in the Kurigram district. She is playing an important role in mentoring the Govt. health care providers (SSN, MW) regarding Cervical Cancer screening in health complexes for the welfare of women’s health in Kurigram.
Parul Rani
Clinical Manager
Parul Rani is a Midwife. She completed her Diploma in Midwifery Programme from Rangpur Nursing College under Rangpur Medical College Hospital. She has successfully conducted many delivery cases, provided ANC, PNC, and NVD services, birth preparedness for delivery mothers, nutrition and hygiene for adolescents, and VIA screening of targeted women. Parul Rani has been working with HAEFA since 1 April 2021 at Cervical Cancer Project in Kurigram. She is playing an important role in the cervical cancer screening project with the supervision of the Medical Officer. In addition, Parul Rani is mentoring the Community Mobilizers located in different UHCs. Parul Rani has experience working in Upazila Health Complex, Lama (Bandarban) for three months and 250 Bed General Hospital, Noakhali under OGSB for nine months. Now, she is working as a Clinical Manager at Cervical Cancer Project in Kurigram.
H R Habib
Office Assistant & Cum IT
H R Habib is an Office Cum IT Assistant. He completed his BSS from National University. He has been working in Cervical Cancer Project in Kurigram since February 2020. Habib maintains total office setup in Kurigram districts and other UHCs under HAEFA.
Paul Mollick
Accounts Officer
Paul Mollick is an Accounts cum Admin Officer. He completed his B. Com from National University. He has been working with HAEFA in Cervical Cancer Project in Kurigram since April 2021. As an Accounts Officer, he has to maintain accounts and admin sites of the project.
Babita Akter
Community Mobilizer
Bobita Akter is a Community Mobilizer. She completed her BA from National University. She has been working with HAEFA at Cervical Cancer Project in Kurigram since October 2019. As a Community Mobilizer, she has to visit door to door for counseling the women at the community level to motivate them for VIA screening at UHC and VIA camps in hard-to-reach areas.
